About the Show

In this second solo show hosted by a doctors’ practice in Berlin Lichterfelde (Dr. med. Antonius Hoffmann / Henning Stuht / Boris Warneck), the artist Cæsiliæ shows her two latest series from 2021 and 2022 : “Waves of Change” and “Towards Light”made in her home studio in Berlin Schöneberg. Imaginary seascapes and pounds with a message of faith, joy and courage.

Waves of Change” is a collection of imaginary seascapes which aim to convey a sense of faith, vitality and freedom during times of personal and collective transformation.

Towards light”is a serie of radiant paintings celebrating transformation into motherhood for the painter. An ode to our inner light and potential. A reverence to the Sun, inspired by William Turner for some artworks, dreams and personal experience (in the vibrant city of Berlin where the artist is based).

With those collections painted during her pregnancy and just after the birth of her first child in February 2022, the artist explores further the subjects of water, movement and shimmering light reflecting her own personal transformation and feelings.

Hi, I am Cæsiliæ

I am a French contemporary Fine Art painter currently based in Berlin and specialized in oils. My work appears in several private and public collections around the world and it has been featured several times in curated selections by international galleries and charity organizations dedicated to Women and the Environment.

“I believe in the healing, powerful and delicate beauty of Nature and Arts.”

Cæsiliæ comes from my second name, Cecilia, which means blind, fortunate or secret in Latin. In addition, Saint Cecilia (230 AD) was the saint for poets and musicians.

R.E.S.P.I.R.E - SOLO EXHIBITION - BERLIN

EWA e. V. Frauenzentrum, Berlin

From 10th of September to 5 of November 2020

Vernissage : 10 September 2020, 7pm.

A breath, a sigh. Life, freedom and serenity.

Through this first solo exhibition, the French painter Cæsiliæ reveals her work achieved during Covid-19 confinement, as well as a curated collection of 35 original figurative artworks - oil and acrylic on canvas - created during the past three years in her studio in Berlin.

Cæsiliæ celebrates Life. She expresses a path of resilience through the beauty of the world and the fractures of existence. The setting sun of our sorrows, the shadows of those from beyond who have come to console us, but it is also the illumination at the rising of the star, the light that floods the world and its secrets, the soul that remembers, seeks and wants to heal ... It is a spellbinding vision of the world and of who we are, of what interpretations of the world Art includes. But the artist warns us: all this beauty is ephemeral and it is also up to us to preserve it, to progress further, not to soil, nor to deviate or destroy this eternal grace which makes everything possible within us...

The exhibition revolves around three main themes displayed in the various rooms of the EWA-Frauenzentrum (Women's center): imaginary seascapes, calm and flooded with sunlight which invite us to free ourselves from our fears and to let our light shine; an ode to the Amazon rainforest, the lung of the Earth recently ravaged by criminal fires; as well as silhouettes of women in whom is reflected the beauty of the world with which we are one.

About the artist:

Cæsiliæ is a 33 years old French contemporary painter based in Berlin.  Through her radiant and profound works, she explores the power, the delicateness and the beauty of the existence and the Nature that surrounds us. Drawing on personal loss and joy, she seeks to build a spiritual and poetic artistic universe that facilitates healing and hope while also acknowledging pain. Water features prominently in her figurative works; luminous reflections on lakes and oceans display a visual dance of light and feeling. Her work appears in several private collections around the world and it has been featured several times in curated selections by prestigious online galleries.

R.E.S.P.I.R.E - EXPOSITION SOLO - BERLIN

EWA e. V. Frauenzentrum, Berlin.

From 10th of September to 5 of November 2020

Vernissage : 10 September 2020, 7pm.
